This podcast is a 1910 commentary on the 17 minute long video that was the first film version of Frankenstein that was written and directed by J. Searle Dawley (1877-1949). The film focused on the psychological and horror aspects of Frankenstein and the effect that his creation had on the mental health of Victor. At the end, the monster’s journey for revenge is portrayed as happening only in Victor’s mind and imagination. The program is evaluating this film and comparing it to the the book, which it is strongly based upon and accurately recreates the scene where Victor build the monster and brings him to life.
